Much of KBS's work takes place at its Long Term Ecological Research site, one of 26 such sites funded by the National Science Foundation, and the only one dedicated to the study of agricultural ecosystems. Researchers at the LTER simulate four different cropping arrangements, ranging from intensive, high-input agriculture to an organic system, to see how each influences and is influenced by the surrounding plants, animals and microbes.
Below are videos featuring two researchers who work at the KBS LTER.
