BIOGRAPHY

Mahsa Adib is an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Michigan State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Architecture (Landscape Architecture Focus) from The Pennsylvania State University in 2025. Adib’s research centers on how communities adopt and steward nature-based solutions, combining participatory GIS, behavioral modeling, and co-design methods across urban and rural contexts. Adib has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, public agencies, and community organizations across the United States, and her work has been supported by funding agencies such as the United States Department of Energy, Chesapeake Bay Trust, and Michigan Department of Natural Resources. She has a record of publications in journals such as Sustainable Cities and Society, Urban Climate, Environment and Behavior, Fire Ecology, and Water. Adib’s work has been recognized through awards, including the Penn State Alumni Association Dissertation Award, Landscape Architecture Foundation, and American Society of Landscape Architects.
