Shno (Shana) is a PhD student in the Department of Community Sustainability at Michigan State University, where her research focuses on the intersection of urban agriculture, sustainable food systems, and community resilience. With a background in landscape architecture and environmental design, she investigates how urban agriculture can serve as a catalyst for transformative change, advancing both environmental sustainability and social empowerment.

Her work highlights the role of agroecology in urban settings, exploring how sustainable farming practices can be integrated into cities to strengthen local food systems, empower communities, and promote social equity and environmental justice.
