BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Hui Li is a Professor of Environmental and Soil Chemistry at Michigan State University. He received a Ph.D. degree of Environmental Soil Chemistry from Purdue University, BS and MS degrees of Environmental Chemistry from Nanjing University, China. Dr. Li's research program focuses on fate, transformation, bioavailability and impacts of pharmaceuticals and personal care products, persistent organic contaminants and pesticides in the environment, understanding of the fundamental environmental processes in water and soil at molecular scale, plant uptake of organic chemicals and emerging contaminants, and development of innovative environmental remediation technology. His research program has been funded by USDA, NSF and NIH. He is teaching or co-teaching CSS 330 Soil Chemistry, CSS 455 Pollutants in Water and Soil, CSS 865 Environmental Fate of Organic Toxicants in Soils, and ESP 801 Physical, Chemical and Biological Processes of the Environment. He has published >100 peer-review research articles in environmental science and soil science journals. These papers have been cited >4100 time with an H-index of 37. Dr. Li served as an associate editor of Journal of Environmental Quality (2009-2014), and was awarded as an outstanding editor (2013). Dr. Li served as chair of Soils and Environmental Quality Division, Soil Science Society of America in 2017. He received Jackson Soil Chemistry and Mineralogy Award from Soil Science Society of America in 2017, and was elected to Soil Science Society of America Fellow in 2018.
