Michele Remer is a PhD student in the Fisheries and Wildlife department. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Biology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Michele started at Michigan State as a Demmer Scholar in Washington, D.C. during the summer of 2022. She is researching Arctic tourism and its effects on invasive species in the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability under the advisement of Dr Jianguo "Jack" Liu. Growing up in North Dakota near the Canadian border has made Michele very interested in researching colder climates to protect these particularly vulnerable natural areas. In her free time, Michele enjoys reading, hiking, and biking.
